Denise Dube - Zumba Instructor

About six years ago, in November, I was attending my yearly Physical Education Conference and one of the sessions happened to be Zumba.  I had never attended a Zumba class before, but was curious.  I had been a dancer when I was younger, and I liked the upbeat music.  I soon realized that anyone could do Zumba and it was great "exercise in disguise".  The next fall, Zumba was being offered at Park Avenue School through Adult Ed.  I signed up, met some great new friends and looked forward to class every week.  After two years of taking classes, the instructor inspired me so much that I decided to go to a training and become a ZIN (Zumba Instructor).  The first night I taught Zumba, the new janitor at my school told me he thought there was a party going on in the gym!  "Join The Party!" is exactly what Zumba wants you to do!  I hope that you will consider trying something new and come to one of my classes.

Louise Poppema, Tai Chi Instructor

Louise has studied and practiced Tai Chi for over 24 years, and has led Tai Chi classes for over 10 years.  Louise actively pursues her formal studies of Tai Chi with Master Waysun Liao, founder of the 44 year old Tai Chi Tao Center in Oak Park, IL.  Louise emphasizes the internal tradition of Tai Chi and views Tai Chi as much more than a form of exercise; a tradition of moving meditation.  Tai Chi helps people reconnect with their life energy through inner and outer relaxation and compassionate acceptance of who and how they are.

Heidi Audet, Yoga and Ayurveda Instructor

Yoga came into my life a little over 16 years ago when my dear friend Tammy invited me to a free class.  It wasn't long after that I fell in love with the practice, and how it not only brought me flexibility but a calmer mind.  Two years after my first class, I was encouraged to enter a yoga teacher training program.  During that time, Ayurveda was introduced to me.  My two loves, Yoga and Ayurveda, were seeded.  As co-owner of Chill Yoga, I love sharing both practices in a hope to bring peace and wellness to others.
